Each Child Unique. Each Child Talented. All Children Cherished.
St.Ita’s Primary School has received the prestigious ‘Eco-School of the Year 2021-22’ award for Lisburn and Castlereagh council. Mrs Cleland and the P6 Eco representatives attended the Eco-School’s award ceremony at Lagan Valley Island. The award recognises excellence in the Eco-School’s programme. Environmental education and awareness are an intrinsic part of the life and ethos of St.Ita’s. The children identify and lead action on global issues such as climate change, global warming and plastic pollution. St.Ita’s maintain their beautiful school grounds and wildflower meadow with the help of school gardener Ms Sheila Smart. The school enjoys valuable links with organisations such as the Adsum Foundation, Sustrans and the Nursery Forest School programme. St.Ita’s continue to maintain their Ambassador status for good practice in the Eco School’s programme. Councillor Martin Gregg came along to St Ita's to see the Eco team in action.
