Each Child Unique. Each Child Talented. All Children Cherished.
Primary 7 were very fortunate to have a visit from the Translink Safety Bus. They taught the children how to behave on the bus and how to keep safe. The children now feel confident to travel to their Post-Primary schools safely in September. Thank you Kevin and Paul.
We had a fantastic day of football up at Carryduff GAC last week.
St. Ita's brought 5 teams who all competed excellently and showed great skill and determination.
Thank you to Carryduff GAC for organising and facilitating.
Oliver and Olly from Mrs Fogarty's P7 class were chosen to represent St.Ita's in the half time games during Down's recent match against Kerry in the Joe McDonagh Cup in Ballycran. The boys had an excellent experience and it was made all the sweeter by Down getting a victory as well.
St Ita's Saves the Ocean was the theme of Miss Gillespie's P2 Class Assembly today. The children told a story illustrating the damage we are doing to our oceans and how we can stop polluting our environment. The children were heroes in another way today as they did not let the difficulties they experienced with the sound system during the assembly deflect them in any way. Well done girls and boys! Mrs Allen's P1 class gave us a wonderful assembly all about friendship. To see the whole assembly, click here

After excellent semi-final wins last week, two of our teams will contest Cumann na mBunscol gaelic football finals this Friday, 9th May
Our boys' Development cup squad had an excellent win against Bunscol Phobail Feirste in the semi-final. Despite being a point behind at half time, the boys regrouped well for the second half and finished winners by 8 points.
They now face St. Bride's in the final at 2pm on Friday.
Our girls' President Cup squad had an equally tough semi-final against St. John the Baptist. A close first half was followed by a more controlled second half from our girls who ran out winners on a scoreline of 3-7 to 1-3.
For the third time this year, they will face St. Anne's in a final. The girls have been close on the other two occasions and will be hoping to go one better this time to take the Championship trophy home.
Their match is at 3pm on Friday.
It was a 6.30am start this bank holiday for May from Mr McConville's P7 class to board the Bredagh bus from Cherryvale headed for Dublin.
May togged out along with her Bredagh U12 camogs in maroon & white and took to the pitch in Croke Park.
May played in 3 matches, against clubs from Kildare, Dublin & Westmeath. Taking different positions during the day, May managed to score a beautiful point in the 1st game, took clean sideline cuts, and even saved a cracking goal when in nets - much to the screams of encouragement from the stands from her big sister Ruby who plays in goals for Down U16s.
As well as the time on the pitch, other highlights included lots of new gear and kit commissioned for this event, and also seeing her name in print in a Croke Park programme.
May and her team had an amazing day and memories to last a lifetime.
Ryan from Mrs Dolan's P7 class has been crowned World Irish Dancing Champion! He travelled to Dublin before Easter to take part in the Irish Dancing World Championships in the 10-11 age category competing against the best dancers from all over the world. Congratulations Ryan on becoming World Champion.
Primary 2 have been learning about the topic of 'The Bakery.' The children were very lucky to be invited to visit French Village Bakery. Whilst there, they got to dress like a baker, have a tour of the bakery and decorate delicious cupcakes. A big thank you to the wonderful people at French Village.
