  • Well Done Girls

    Mon 16 Dec 2024

The P7 girls had a Fantastic time last week at OLSPCK. They took part in a music class, sampled flakemeal biscuits in Home Economics, learned a dance routine and took part in a netball tournament which ended in a St Ita’s v St Ita’s final. Congratulations to Mrs Dolan’s girls who won the shield and Mrs Fogarty’s girls who were runners up. A fantastic day had by all. Thanks you To OLSPCK for their welcome and hospitality. It was lovely to be guided throughout the day by our wonderful past pupils.

  • Celebration of Diwali

    Mon 16 Dec 2024

This year, the pupils and staff of St. Ita’s came together to create a vibrant display in celebration of Diwali. The main entrance of the school was transformed and adorned with beautiful artwork, created by the P1-7 children. Parents, Mrs Moharana and Mrs Mishra very kindly came into our school on Thursday 24th of October to share Diwali celebrations and engage in traditional artwork with the P1&2 children. We extend our sincere thanks to Mrs Moharana and Mrs Mishra for giving their time to make the celebration memorable and meaningful for the children.

  • Well Done Girls

    Tue 10 Dec 2024

Our P6/7 Camogs were a credit to themselves and their school last week when the took part in Cumann na mBunscol indoor competition.

Across two days of competition, our girls played a total of 7 matches. They won 6 and drew 1, which put them in strong contention to collect the winner's trophy. Unfortunately, their drawn game was against another unbeaten school, Bunscoil Phobal Feirste so it all ended up going down to score difference with BPF just slightly ahead.

The girls were naturally disappointed to have come so close, but it was brilliant to see their skills and talent over the course of the week. There is a lot more to come from this team when Championship time comes around in Term 3.

    Well done girls!

  • Fitness Freddy

    Tue 10 Dec 2024

The children had a special visitor for our most recent Feel Good Friday – Fitness Freddy from Energy Fitness! He has been working with schools, community groups and clubs for over 18 years putting the fun back into fitness. All year groups (including Nursery) had a half an hour slot of music (ranging from Taylor Swift to Toy Story!), dance, teamwork and jokes! The laughter, singing and high energy levels could be heard radiating from the hall during each session and the children definitely came out on a high! Freddy discussed the benefits of exercise and about finding a way of moving that you enjoy. Well done to all of the children who each received a ‘Fitness Freddy’ certificate!

  • Well Done to our Basketball Teams

    Wed 04 Dec 2024

Well done to our P5 Girls and Boys Basketball Teams who both won second place in the School's Cup in Lisburn Racquets last Thursday!

All players were excellent ambassadors for St Ita's, especially in the new kits- playing their very best and left everything out on the court. They are definitely both teams to watch ahead of the P6 Blitz next year!

    Well done to all involved!
