On Monday 16^th January, our cross-country team travelled to Delamont Country Park to take part in the rescheduled second round of the Primary School League. Despite the difficult conditions, all our runners did superbly well with our boys' team topping the leader board for collective points. This puts them in pole position in County Down to qualify for the NI finals. Our girls' team also scored well to give them a great chance of also qualifying for the finals.

Individual highlights include Oliver from P7CM who came 2^nd out of 137 male runners and Caoimhe from P7NF who came 6^th out of 147 female runners.

Well done to all our runners. You are a credit to your school.

Jessica Garvin from Mrs Fogarty's P6 Class won the Confucius Institute Chinese Poster competition. She was one of 10 winners of the KS2 category out of over 5000 entries. Jessica will attend a Chinese new year celebration at Stormont next month. Well done Jessica!

The pupils in St Ita's enjoyed participating in a Christmas themed problem-solving challenge. Well done to the winners from each class who demonstrated excellent thinking and problem-solving skills. 

 Una O’Hara, President of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Drumbo, St Vincent de Paul visited St Ita's to receive a cheque from Mrs Browne and two P7 pupils, Ellie and James for £856. Pupils raised the funds by holding a movie afternoon.

Our Christmas Jumper Day to raise money for AWARE NI last Friday raised the fantastic amount of £1112.27. We would like to thank everyone for their generosity

Ryan from Mrs Gillespie's P5 class and Emma from Ms Harkin's P3 class got to dance for Amy Mae Dolan, lead dancer in Riverdance and ex Carson Academy World Champion dancer at the Carson Academy Christmas Class Assessments. Amy Mae assessed each of their dances and gave personal feedback to Ryan and Emma. An amazing experience and one they will remember for years to come.

The snowmen have invaded St Ita's. Jamie from Mr Murphy's P3 class and his Grandad Woods made the snowmen and brought them into school. Look out to see where they turn up!
