Today David and Jimmy from NIFRS came to talk to P5 pupils about fire safety.
Pupils were given a tour of the fire engine and shown how the equipment works.
Afterwards David talked to pupils about fire safety in the home and he gave pupils lots of advice and tips on how to stay safe if a fire breaks out.
David also talked about the rescue aspect of his job . Pupils were very enthusiastic during the visit and asked lots of relevant questions.
St Ita's celebrated World Book Day with children dressing up as their favourite literary characters. There were some fabulous costumes. Thank you to pupils and parents who created the most amazing characters!
Mrs Fanning and Mrs Taggart's P7 Class Assembly was all about Mothers. You can watch the video of the wonderful assembly by clicking here.
In P6 we have been learning about Rainforests. We are creating our own artistic representation of the wonderful plants and animals that are there.
We are so proud of our girls’ Gaelic team who came runners up in the @AontroimCnamB indoor tournament this week. Some wonderful football skills, teamwork and determination on show. An extremely close competition decided on goal difference. Congratulations to all teams involved.
Kate Nicholl, one of the MLAs for South Belfast, invited a group of St Ita's pupils to watch a training session with DHL Stormers from Zimbabwe. The boys got to meet the team, ask questions and collect many autographs. They had a fantastic time. A big thank you to Kate for this wonderful opportunity.
