Each Child Unique. Each Child Talented. All Children Cherished.
Catholic Schools Week is being celebrated in our school this week. The theme this year is 'Normal Lives, Called to Holiness.'
A very special part of Catholic Schools Week is that we celebrate Grandparents' Day, a truly special occasion, that is one of the highlights of the year for our pupils.
This year, when hopefully the weather is milder, we look forward to welcoming our grandparents for Grandparents' Day on Friday 20th of March. We will also remember
those grandparents who are no longer with us.
As part of our celebrations, we are creating a 'Grandparents Tree' display and it would be lovely to include photographs of your child's grandparents. Please ensure your child's name is on the back of all photographs so that they can be returned safely to you.
On this Feast Day of St Ita, may the light of her faith fill our school community with God’s peace, joy, and love. Through her example of compassion and trust in Christ, may we continue to grow together as a community rooted in faith.
We celebrated this special day in school by participating
in Mass in the Class with Fr Michael.
The Student Council attended mass in the church this morning with Mrs Hanna and Miss Sloan. It was a lovely celebration.
The first Class Assembly of the New Year saw Miss Lawlor's P4 class speak to us about resilience, a topic we have been researching throughout the school. P4 illustrated the theme of resilience beautifully, by telling the story, Giraffes Can't Dance by Giles Andreae. What a wonderful way to kick off the New Year.

Just before Christmas, we said goodbye to two incredible, long-standing members of our school community. Mrs Gibson and Mrs Nethercott have officially retired, and while we’ll miss their kindness, dedication, and smiles every day, we’re excited for the next chapter in their lives.
Thank you both for everything you’ve done for St Ita’s – you’ve left a lasting mark on our hearts.
Join us in wishing them all the best for the future!
The talented St Ita's musicians gave us a fabulous music concert this week just in time for Christmas. To view St Ita's Music Celebration, click here
Author, Henry from Mrs Fanning's P7 class has returned to his writing and has produced his first work in almost 2 years. Grim 5 is the latest installment in his Grim collection. Henry also designed and produced the cover. With Mum proof reading and Dad printing, Henry has kept all aspects of the publication in house!
Henry commented, "Grim hasn't be made in over a year!
The storyline is complex. I hope that you enjoy it, if you are brave enough to read it.
All I can say is that there will be..........."
