After winning their group at the Indoor Gaelic qualifying, the St. Ita's girls were one of 8 teams to take part in the finals day just before the mid-term break.
The 8 teams were split into 2 groups of 4 with St. Ita's placed in a group with Holy Trinity, St. Michael's and St. Bernard's Glengormley.
The girls played superbly well across all three of their group games and qualified for the final against the winners of the other group - St. Annes.
Across two keenly contested halves, the St. Ita's girls worked their socks off and did their very best to carve out scoring chances. A few quick fire St. Annes goals gave the girls a mountain to climb but they refused to give up.
It wasn't to be in the end, but the girls can hold their heads up high after a brilliant week of football. 32 schools started the week with a chance to lift the trophy and our girls were one of the last two standing.
They will get a chance for a rematch against St. Annes in a few weeks when the postponed Autumn League Final takes place.
Well done girls!!

St. Ita's made a fantastic start to their South Belfast League soccer campaign today with 5 wins out of 5 matches.
Their opponents on the day were Holy Rosary, Rosetta PS, Knockbreda PS, Scoil an Droichid and Loughview PS.
They showed excellent skill in attack and great determination when defending to score 20 and only concede one goal across the 5 games.
This puts them in a good position at the top of our group of 6. After the next round of the league in 2 weeks, the top 3 teams in our group will be joined by the top 3 schools in the other group of 6 to play-off for the league trophy.
Well done boys! You were superb all day!
Mr Phillip Brennan, from the Knights of Columbanus, visited the school just before Christmas and presented awards to the winners of the P7 Art Competition.
