Each Child Unique. Each Child Talented. All Children Cherished.
St. Ita's sent two squads to participate in the Cumann na mBunscol championship group stages. Both finished the day as group winners.
The competition was fierce and both squads had excellent battles against some of the strongest GAA schools in Belfast. Our two teams showed great skill and belief to come out on top of their respective groups and qualify for the semi-final stage of each cup. The semi-finals will take place after Easter on Wednesday 17th April.
Well done to all the P6 and P7 boys involved. You were a credit to your school!
The Primary 7 girls competed in Girls Soccer Blitz hosted by St Joseph's Primary School in Ulidia Playing Fields on Thursday 21st March. The girls won their group, but unfortunately after the final going to penalties, they narrowly missed out on winning the cup. Well done to all of the girls! They played brilliantly and were wonderful representatives for St Ita's. Thank you to all parents who helped with lifts on the day.
On Tuesday 19th March 15 P7 girls and 15 P7 boys went to Lisburn Racquets Club were they took part in a Basketball blitz. Each team took part in two games, winning both to get entered into the semi finals. Both teams were victorious to make St Ita's overall winners in the girls' and boys' P7 competition. Well done to everyone involved.
Luke from Mrs Loughran's P5 class has been awarded a merit in his Grade 5 Piano exam. It is extremely unusual for someone so young to be even attempting Grade 5. What a fabulous achievement - congratulations Luke.
Three members of the PTFA visited St.Ita's to have a look at all the resources and kits that have been purchased using PTFA funds. Pamela, Danielle and Nicky were delighted to see the children making good use of them. The boys and girls look so well in their new Football, Netball and Cross Country kits. Sensory equipment, Musical instruments and Lunchtime Activities resources were also purchased using PTFA funds. The boys and girls in St. Ita's would like to say a big 'Thank You' to the PTFA for providing these wonderful new resources.
Congratulations to Ryan from Mrs Dolan's P6 class. Ryan won the Under 10 title at The Northern Ireland Irish Dance Championships last weekend. Well done Ryan!
Mrs Taggart's P4 Class Assembly told us all about St Patrick and why, even today, he is known the whole world over. To see the fabulous video go to: …https://st-itas-primary-school.primarysite.media/media/mrs-taggarts-p4-class-assembly
We are delighted to share the amazing news that St Ita’s came first in the Credit Union Regional Final this afternoon, Chapter 3, Competition B for 10-12 year olds. It was very tense with two sets of tie breaker rounds. The team has now made it through to the All Ireland Grand Final in Dublin which we believe will be 7th April tbc. We were the only school to have two teams make it through to Competition A (slightly younger P7’s) and Competition B regional finals. What an achievement for these young people! A big thank you to the whole P7 team for all their work…, let’s keep it going for Dublin!!!
Day 6 gets off to a great start! The skiing conditions were fantastic - clear skies and wonderful powdery snow! Both groups loved the day & the views. In the afternoon we headed into town for ice-cream, shopping and pizza 🍕 Ready for our final day of skiing ⛷️
