Our P5 pupils recently took part in the Basketball Blitz at Lisburn Racquets, and what an exciting day it was! Both our boys’ and girls’ teams played outstanding basketball, showcasing fantastic teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the tournament.
The girls’ team faced a tough opening match against Holy Trinity but bounced back brilliantly with an excellent win over Pobal Feirste. In the play-offs, they met Holy Trinity again and demonstrated incredible improvement, pushing the eventual Cup winners to the limit in a nail-biting game that ended with Holy Trinity edging ahead by just one basket. A superb effort from the girls!
The boys’ team dominated the Boys’ Cup from start to finish, winning all their matches in style. The final came down to sudden death, and with nerves of steel, the boys secured victory with a fantastic basket that sealed their triumph. What an achievement!
A huge well done to all our players for their determination, skill, and sportsmanship. You made us proud! Also, a big thank you to all the parents who accompanied us, and for Richard our basketball coach for preparing the boys and girls so well.
