  • Robyn is a Jiu-Jitsu National Champion!

    Sun 22 Sep 2019

    Robyn is a Jiu-Jitsu Champion!

I have been learning Jiu-Jitsu at Gracie Barra Belfast for three years. I started to enjoy Martial Arts after joining the Judo in After School Activities in St. Ita's when I was in P2.

On Saturday, 14th September, I went to my first competition, The National Children's Jiu-Jitsu League at Sport Ireland Campus in Dublin.

I was nervous, but I tried my hardest and won the final with a submission. I was so happy to win a gold medal and title belt. I am proud to be a National Champion at my age and weight division.

  • Ruby did so well!

    Sun 01 Sep 2019

Ruby Burns (P7 Ms Barr) took part in the Grand Opera House Summer Youth Programme - performing in the musical Bugsy Malone in 4 sell out shows in the Opera House in August.

Ruby was selected to take part in this programme after a series of tough auditions, and then spent 2 weeks rehearsing with a cast of 150 young performers.

She was the only child from St Ita's selected to take part this year, and in fact was one of the youngest performers taking part in the show.

The show got rave reviews in the press and standing ovations after every performance.

Well done Ruby on your hard work & success!
