  • Thank You Everyone

    Thu 28 Mar 2024

On Tuesday 26th March we had a lovely assembly to present the money we raised in our school for children's cancer charities. In Terms 1 and 2 we held two events a Christmas Jumper Day and a Wear Yellow Day. The response to both these events was incredible and we raised an amazing £4500!! We were delighted to be able to present this money to two local charities, 'The Children Cancer Unit Charity' and 'Angel Wishes'. Both charities carry out immense work for children and families affected by cancer and we are delighted to be able to support them.

Máire from the Children Cancer Unit Charity attended the assembly to accept a cheque and told us a bit about the charity. Jonathan Gray and Niamh Clarke (Bella Gray's parents) also attended and shared how they were supported by these charities. Eamon and Madeline McAloran (Lily's parents) attend the assembly too and told us about the robot that is funded by CCUC and how we have put this to great use in our school. Madeline and Niamh accepted a cheque on behalf of Angel Wishes. It was also lovely to welcome Bella's grandparents, Jim and Kathy, and Rosemary Bergin, a school governor who works in the City Hospital Haematology Unit.

Thank you to everyone for your continued support with our efforts to raise money for these wonderful charities. We will continue with this focus throughout this year and next.

  • Footballers make it to the Semi-Finals

    Wed 27 Mar 2024

St. Ita's sent two squads to participate in the Cumann na mBunscol championship group stages. Both finished the day as group winners.

The competition was fierce and both squads had excellent battles against some of the strongest GAA schools in Belfast. Our two teams showed great skill and belief to come out on top of their respective groups and qualify for the semi-final stage of each cup. The semi-finals will take place after Easter on Wednesday 17th April.

Well done to all the P6 and P7 boys involved. You were a credit to your school!
