  • Chinese New Year Dragon Parade

    Tue 31 Jan 2023

St Ita's celebrated Chinese New Year in a very special way this year. We had visitors from the Confucious Institute to display traditional chinese music and dancing. The children were joined in class for a workshop, creating ink blowing art and chinese masks. The children then displayed the wonderful dragons that they had been creating over the last two weeks in a whole school 'Dragon Dance'. Everyone lined the corridors to watch the parade and the dance even ventured outside to display to the Nursery children who had also made a wonderful dragon. The events were really enjoyed by all. Thank you to our Mandarin teacher Miss Chen for all her assistance and work.

  • St Ita's Shine at Delamont

    Wed 18 Jan 2023

On Monday 16th January, our cross-country team travelled to Delamont Country Park to take part in the rescheduled second round of the Primary School League. Despite the difficult conditions, all our runners did superbly well with our boys' team topping the leader board for collective points. This puts them in pole position in County Down to qualify for the NI finals. Our girls' team also scored well to give them a great chance of also qualifying for the finals.

Individual highlights include Oliver from P7CM who came 2nd out of 137 male runners and Caoimhe from P7NF who came 6th out of 147 female runners.

Well done to all our runners. You are a credit to your school.
