• Indoor Hurling Blitz

  The P6 and P7 hurlers travelled to Brooke Leisure Centre this week to take part in the Cumann na mBunscol indoor blitz. 

   

  They played 4 games in total against Bunscoil

  Phobal Feirste, St Therese of Lisieux, Gaelscoil na Mona and Ballymacward PS. 

   

  After some tough battles, the boys finished the day undefeated with a win and three draws. This wasn't quite enough to get us through to the finals, but the boys should be extremely proud of their efforts. Well played boys!

   

  

• Well Done Ryan

  Ryan from Mrs Gillespie's P5 class recently represented the Carson Academy at the Scoil Rince Realta Feis in Newtownards. He received three firsts and two second places. Well done Ryan!

  

• St Ita's Present Cheque to Cancer Fund for Children

  Rebecca from Cancer Fund for Children, visited St Ita's and was presented with a cheque for £483.50 by Mrs Gillespie and some P5 pupils. The money was raised during a recent Hats and Shades Day to raise awareness of safety in the sun.

  

• Our Class Assembly

  Mrs Gillespie's assembly was on 19^th October.  The P5 class were so delighted to see their parents as Covid-19 did limit our invitations to parents and visitors during this time. 

  The theme of the assembly was a celebration of things beginning to return to normal in school. The class talked about the difficulties of Lockdown but focussed mainly on the positives. Animals across the world thrived during the pandemic because of less human interference. We got to spend more time with our families and most of us are stronger and more resilient because of it.

  P5 parents were delighted to watch an assembly again for the first time this year. click here to see a short video
