  • Charlie is a World Book Day Star!

    Thu 27 May 2021

     Congratulations to Charlie McColgan!

David Walliams, an extremely popular children’s author, wanted to celebrate World Book Day this year by giving ten children the opportunity to win two signed libraries of his books, one for each winner and one for their school. To be in with a chance of winning this ‘money-can’t buy prize’, children had to answer the following question:

Who is your favourite David Walliam’s character and why?

Charlie McColgan from Mrs McLaughlin’s P3 class thought he would enter the competition and he received an email recently to congratulate him on being one of the lucky children to win a signed library of David Walliam’s books!

We are absolutely delighted for Charlie; he should be really proud of himself for doing so well! Charlie, you are a star!

You can read Charlie’e entry for the competition below.

    My Favourite Character

Geronimo is my favourite character. I like him because he never gave up on his dream to fly.

It was really funny when he tried lots of different things, even jumping on his friend’s belly!

He was so happy when he thought his wish came true. It was really kind of his dad to make his dream a reality.

    Geronimo is so cool.

Charlie brought in the other set of books for our school library and we are absolutely thrilled. Thank you so much Charlie. You are so kind!
