  • Libraries NI 'Big Summer Read 2019'

    Sun 09 Jun 2019

Libraries NI ‘Big Summer Read 2019’ takes place from Monday 1st July until Saturday 31st August in all 96 libraries and 16 mobile libraries throughout Northern Ireland.

This annual reading initiative is a free programme offering fun and interactive ways to keep children and teens reading during the summer holidays. It’s a great way to address the ‘Summer Slide’, a decline in children’s reading skills and comprehension that occurs if they are not engaged with reading or activities over the summer months.

    This year’s theme

The title for this year is ‘Slide into Summer Reading’ and as well as encouraging children to read as many books as possible, we’ll have a programme of exciting events and free activities linked to all sorts of adventures! Children who take part will receive a certificate at the end of the Summer.

  • P7 Plant Sale was a 'blooming' success!

    Fri 31 May 2019

    P7 Plant Sale

The P7 Plant Sale on Monday 13th May was a tremendous success. During the weeks before the sale, the P7 pupils were busy sowing seeds, planting up hanging baskets and containers, painting pots, making posters, decorating t-shirts, and producing plant information sheets. We’d like to thank everyone who supported the sale – from the parents who bought a box full of plants to the children who spent their pocket money on a sunflower or pot of sweet pea!  A big thank you to Ms Shelia Smart for making our grounds look so beautiful and her wonderful work with the children. It is really appreciated.

  • LOGAN and FINN Watson (P1) star in Game of Thrones!!

    Mon 06 May 2019

LOGAN and FINN Watson (P1) star in Game of Thrones!!

Twins, Logan and Finn Watson from P1 were lucky enough to be cast in Game of Thrones Season 8.

Please view the attached images and it will paint a picture of the part they play, ‘Little Sam’.

Please click on the links below to view their Wikipedia and IMDB pages outlining their parts in the show.

As you can imagine both Mum and Dad are very proud of their achievement especially as they were only 3 ½ when they filmed everything. They spent a week in the Dungeons of Shanes Castle, scary enough for an adult never mind two toddlers!

We, in St. Ita’s are so proud of Logan and Finn and their wonderful acting success at such a young age. To be part of the global phenomenon that is ‘Game of Thrones’ is unbelievable!

Who knows what lies ahead for these two young boys. Hollywood may be calling very soon!

We wish them every success in their future acting careers. Well done boys; you are absolute stars!
