It is planned that St Ita's will open tomorrow, Friday 30th January. Please take extra care on Alderwood Hill as it is extremely unlikely to be gritted or cleared by snow plough. We have made a request to Road Service but they stated that it was highly unlikely that the Alderwood Hill would be treated. With this in mind we would ask parents to consider using the Park & Ride facility and walking from there tomorrow morning. Given the possibility of freezing temperatures this evening we would ask parents to take great care tomorrow morning and to leave plenty of time for their journey.

Last week coaches from Carryduff GAC came to St Ita's to hold Gaelic and Hurling sessions with St Ita's pupils. The event was organised by Mr Close and Mr Joe Tunney to promote Gaelic Games and encourage pupils to take part in sport.
Eight experienced coaches from the club worked with P3 to P6 pupils. They focussed on the core skills of both hurling and football. It was a wonderful day that was enjoyed by all the pupils. Hopefully many of the boys and girls will be keen to join our local Gaelic Clubs. Please see Latest News Documents for some images of what was a fabulous day!
